The ‘Pop’ movement of the 60’s emerged as a reaction against the seriousness and ‘boundaries’ of expression within the art world. Mirroring society’s shift in attitude ‘Pop’ artists employed the techniques of commercial art into their work, as well as commercial and literary imagery in an attempt to fuse elements of popular and high culture to erase the boundaries between the two.

Raised in Columbus, Ohio, it was not until 1990, that Tim West began his professional career in Florida as a commercial artist creating paper sculptures, designing furniture and developing various graphic projects.
